GL Chat brings your GL Workspace to the Mac.

In the browser, your GL Workspace is one tab among many, and your own tools stay outside. GL Chat brings it to the Mac as an app and gives it your MCP servers, safely on your machine.

Chat and your own tools in one window.

  • GL Workspace as an app

Your chat from GL Digital GmbH, as you know it from the browser, in a window of its own.

  • Your MCP servers

Servers on your Mac or on the network give the chat their tools. Node.js and Python are included.

  • Keys in the keychain

API keys and passwords live in the macOS keychain, not in a file.

GL Chat with its list of MCP servers: the servers by state on the left, a running server with its tools and its output on the right.

One command installs GL Chat and keeps it current.

For Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later). GL Chat is signed and notarised by Apple.

With one command

Enter it in Terminal. The same command brings GL Chat up to date later.

curl -fsSL https://download.gl-workspace.net/install.sh | bash

It also replaces GL DIGITAL and MindBehindAI, the app's earlier names. GL Chat takes over their servers and settings.

Or by hand

Download the disk image, open it and drag GL Chat into Applications.

The file mcp.json in GL Chat, with each server's state above its entry and a key as a reference.

You decide which tools the chat uses.

Under “Choose tools” you turn whole servers, groups or single tools on and off. The chat sees the change without a restart: GL Chat reloads it as soon as you are not typing.

The Choose tools dialog: a server's tools by group, each with a switch.
